It is common practice, and widely encouraged, for Muslims to offer a dua on the Prophets as a sign of respect when speaking or hearing about them.
A dua can simply be translated as a prayer, or invocation.
Therefore, whenever the Prophet Muhammad is mentioned, Muslims will follow it up by saying “Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam” (May God’s peace and blessings be upon him). The most popular formula in written format is usually either:
- Muhammad (s.a.w.s. – which is short for Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam); or
- Muhummad (p.b.u.h.- which is short for Peace Be Upon Him).
Similarly, when other Prophets are mentioned, such as Jesus or Moses, Muslims will follow it up with “Alayhis Salam” (‘a.s.’ being the shorthand) which again means Peace Be Upon Him.
Other important and esteemed figures are referred to with the blessing “Radi Allah ‘Anhum” which means ‘May God be pleased with him’. For females it’s “Radi Allah ‘Anha” meaning ‘May God be pleased with her’.
Since this website is addressed to a wider audience, for both Muslims and non-Muslims alike, the use of the blessings has been omitted in the text. No disrespect whatsoever is intended. It is, however, recommended for the Muslim readers to inwardly and personally make these prayers as they read along.

I don’t really know much about Islam, but by the looks of this website and the article above, it seems very peaceful.
I hope you succeed on your journey to enlighten others who are not aware yet.
Peace, Friend
